13th Edition of the Erbil International Fair

The 13th edition of the Erbil International Multi-Sector Trade Fair took place in the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq between 30 September and 3 October.

The fair is an established yearly meeting that gathers business people from many parts of the world in Erbil, in order to provide a network of exchange for manifacturers, suppliers, distrubutors, and buyers. Although the exhibition focusses more on trade, there is also room for foreign investments in the Region. This year, the event had the title “Bolstering International Trade Ties in Iraq”. More than 300 companies from 24 countries took part in the international expo, whoise main aim is to facilitate trade and investment across all sectors in Kurdistan in specific and the Iraqi market at large.

In his opening speech, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, highlighted the role of the Kurdistan Regional Government as a reliable trading partner in the region, positioned at the centre major global markets and further reaffirmed the new government’s commitment to developing a diversified economy and providing a secure investment environment.
