Excerpts of the Prime Minister’s speech:
“These projects have been initiated quite some time ago. Unfortunately because of the brutal attack of IS on Kurdistan, many projects have been stopped or delayed. […] Just as the Peshmerga is fighting IS on the front lines, investors are implementing their projects in Kurdistan and we will not allow any force to stop the progress of the Kurdistan Region.”
“I hope that investment will continue not only in Erbil, but also in all other cities and towns of the Kurdistan Region and we will be able to provide more services to all our beloved citizens.”
“These projects will help to continue the economic recovery in the Kurdistan Region. They will provide job opportunities for the people of the Region. What the government can do is pave the way and facilitate laws to help investors to be able to invest more in the Kurdistan Region.”
“We have great hope that Kurdistan will be a successful example of economic recovery not only for the Kurdish people, but also for all Iraqis and the entire region.”
